If Robbie Williams is in the unfortunate position not to believe that Jesus died for him, then he needs to keep it to himself, as he will be answerable to God for his unbelief. Also he is attacking a major foundational truth of Christianity. What would happen if he did that concerning Islam - there would be serious social unrest in the country and that would certainly make headlines.

i agree. he shoudn’t bring religion into it. if he doesnt agree with it then why mock it? is he afraid of something?

The song is one of double entendre. On the surface, it is talking about humanity’s / Robbie’s personal journey / issues with physical appearance. But there is a much deeper profound meaning stepped in the Judeo-Christian religion
The song is sung from the perspective of Lucifer, who according to the Judeo-Christian religion, was God’s most beautiful creation. Lucifer was head angel but fell victim to vanity thinking himself perfect and rebelled against his creator when informed that he was made to serve humanity, along with 1/3 of the heavenly bodies / angels / ‘the fallen’ (his family)
He recounts the day he fell, losing his beauty through this rebellion / sin (entrophy) but has found power through it (sin) in this world.
He demonstrates his disdain for humanity with the body references, like some sort of putrid edifice that he sees everywhere. Bodhi is the Sanskrit word for enlightenment, thus he begins with a metaphorical reference with the bodies / carcasses in the tree of enlightment / knowldege of good and evil (ie the tree that Adam and Eve are associated with). He then referes to human procreation / expanding population, bodies that are ‘on’ his family (dwelling within human beings), bodies everywhere getting in the way, lots of dead bodies is the way “its gonna be”.
He then sings in plural about how he and the fallen have been stripped of their beauty and must clothe their appearance. They just want to look good naked ie how they once did, they just want perfection.
The whole “Jesus didn’t die for you” thing is again double entendre. On one hand he’s talking to himself in first person, Jesus didn’t die for you / ‘the fallen’ but allegedly for these humans / bodies. But he’s also talking to humans / bodies in spite saying you are just like us / in the same sad “fallen” stated just wanting perfection and your hope / ‘salvation’ is in vain (“Jesus didn’t die for you”).

i think robbie believes but is scared to admit it to the public !! as a lot of people mock what they cant see god bless you robbie !!!

maybe he not only not believes, but also thinks believing in a guy in the sky is worth mocking? I agree with him. You are so narrow minded … gee … oh, sorry.
Guess Ill be judged by the all knowing, all forgiving man too. As georg carlin said: he lovey you, he watches over you, hes wise and forgiving - BUT IF YOU DONT FOLLOW HIS 10 RULE SYSTEM HES GONNA ETERNALY BURN YOU!
yep, makes sense.

I am compelled to write a response to Robbies lyrics. I was quietly excited when I first heard this song, but after reading them, am quietly disgusted, but not surprised that such a troubled man would be singing these anti-christ lyrics. I think ‘lucifer’ is quite happy with this

i think robbie was trying to publish a song that try to have publicity or generate this kind of discussion. i dont think he was trying to call upon “lucifer” because he is not a believer. bt if he is…what is the problem? i mean..he is a publi person and he was trying to hide it for so long time…maybe he is now trying make people know him deeper. remember he was and he still is a pop idol for everyone. and is someone hates him…well why are you reading his lyrics after all…

I for one cannot understand what the ’song’ is all about and really am saddened by the comment about Jesus. YES Jesus did die for me and you all including Robbie whether or not you like the fact.
I agree with the other poster who said that there would be outrage if his comments were anti Muslim or other religion yet as Christians we are supposed to grin and bear it!
To the believer who likes this song, please consider whether singing those words is right for a Christian.
I heard this first on the CIN concert and all I can say is that it was a noise, thats why I am looking up the lyrics as I could not hear what Robbie was saying. Maybe Gary Barlow should give him singing lessons!!!
