Florence and the Machine got an international recognition when the single “Dog Days Are Over” was used as a cover on the adaptation film “Eat, Pray Love” starred Julia Roberts. The signature song was included on the debut album entitled “Lungs”, a really successful record that got an important award at the 2010 BRIT Awards.

The band is currently working in the second record which has not titled yet however, they have released the lead single at the end of last month.  Besides that, they has recently announced that the album is already complete and it will be available on October 31st in the UK.

What the Water Gave Me is another stimulating alternative pop song that was written by the same lead vocal singer, Florence Welch.

She has explained the lyrics is about “water in all forms and all bodies” and that she thought about all people, while she was writing the song,  who lost their lives in vain .

Florence and the Machine is a very recognized indie rock artist who recently has received a 2011 Grammy Award Nomination for Best New Artist. She released her debut album “Lungs” in the middle of 2009. This record has been a great success in Europe where she has received multi-platinum certified. This week, her single, Dog Days Are Over has climbed #37 positions by locating at #21 on U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Chart. The song was included on “Eat, Pray, Love” trailer, the film adaptation about the true story of Elizabeth Gilbert, a writer who decided to travel Italy, India and Indonesia after divorcing of her husband.
