Ok, the song does have a good beat but they lyrics are completely disgusting. The only people I expect to really LOVE thsi song are gay, bi and white females who have kissed girls before. I am 30 yrs old was introduced to the song and felt that it had a great beat to dance to, I have never kissed a girl, I am not bi or gay, my love of the male sex is way too deep, if ya don’t like the song….simple…don’t listen to it. If you don’t want your kids to hear it, don’t play it. It’s not THAT difficult. I could/would never touch someone of the same sex simply because it makes me ill, but I have no issues with someone having a different sexual preference from me, so whether or not she is gay or bi, the song is simply just fun and more about curiosity than about banging someone of the same sex. First of all…anyone who dislikes this song has absolutely NO taste in GOOD pop music. Hey, I come from a Christian home and both my sister and I love this song. We are not gay, bi, or curious. We just know great music when we hear it. The beat is easy to dance to and the lyrics are catchy and easy to sing. Katy Perry has an awesome voice. I’ve played this song over and over again in my houase and my mom, who is the most church going woman I know, has no problem with this song. When she was younger she kissed a girl and there was nothing sexual about it. And yes the Bible does say man should be with woman and vise versa but there is nothin wrong with a few playful kisses if nothing comes out of it. Personaly I’ve never kissed a girl, and I still don’t want to, so the myth about listening to music will turn you gay or bi is total horse crap.

I have read the bible several times and there is no mention of lesbians and does not mention that it is even a sin…. This song kicks a***, that’s all there is to it. I’ve seen lots of (straight)girls kiss each other and they were only being friendly. Society, for the most part, expects girls to love on each other whether they have sexual attraction for one another or not. Living in California, I see girls (especially teenage) showing one another a great deal of affection, and all they are doing is experimenting, having fun, and turning their fellow guy friends on.

All of you religious fanatics need to get out of your little bubble. There’s nothing wrong with being bi, gay or even just experimenting. I’m sorry you’re all so wrapped up in your unhealthy attitudes towards sex and sexuality that you feel you need to dictate what you think is right to everyone else. And if any one of you give me that whole “it’s wrong because they can’t procreate” deal, guess what? The Bible was written by a BUNCH OF GUYS a LONG time ago as a means of teaching some lessons but also exacting mind control (don’t get me started on the other monotheistic religions either). Back then the world was a LOT less populated than it is now and people died young, so of course not producing offspring would be a bad thing. Now we have SIX BILLION PEOPLE on the planet…dwindling resources, babies being dropped off in dumpsters, kids being abused and neglected, aborted, etc. So far I don’t think fertile heterosexuals have made a great case for themselves. Just because you CAN make babies doesn’t mean you SHOULD. And ironically those same people want to deny those children a loving home if the parents happen to be homosexual even though they most likely have enough resources to take care of them. What a mixed up world. Take your heads out of your asses…seriously.

Guys do it all the time and people don’t count it as “gross” or “nasty”. But when a female artist sings about it, apparently it’s the worst thing in the world.

First of all I’d like to say what does it matter whether Katy Perry is Bi, Straight or a Lesbian. She is still a normal person like anyone else.
Second I’d like to say that you don’t have to be bi or a lesbian to like this song. My cousin’s wife sings it all the time and she isn’t either.
Thirdly you don’t have to be gay to kiss the same sex. It could be out of curiousity, or pure love for eachother. I love all my friends, no matter their gender.
Fourthly why is this song wrong for younge children to hear? Would it be fine if it was a guy singing it? The fact is gay people are out there and an active part of our society and you and your children better get used to it. Especially if we ever want to achieve world peace. I don’t see how this discrimination against gays, bis and lesbians is any different then racism. And we all know that is bad don’t we???
