Ok, the song does have a good beat but they lyrics are completely disgusting. The only people I expect to really LOVE thsi song are gay, bi and white females who have kissed girls before. I am 30 yrs old was introduced to the song and felt that it had a great beat to dance to, I have never kissed a girl, I am not bi or gay, my love of the male sex is way too deep, if ya don’t like the song….simple…don’t listen to it. If you don’t want your kids to hear it, don’t play it. It’s not THAT difficult. I could/would never touch someone of the same sex simply because it makes me ill, but I have no issues with someone having a different sexual preference from me, so whether or not she is gay or bi, the song is simply just fun and more about curiosity than about banging someone of the same sex. Hey, I come from a Christian home and both my sister and I love this song. We are not gay, bi, or curious. We just know great music when we hear it. The beat is easy to dance to and the lyrics are catchy and easy to sing. Katy Perry has an awesome voice. I’ve played this song over and over again in my houase and my mom, who is the most church going woman I know, has no problem with this song. When she was younger she kissed a girl and there was nothing sexual about it. And yes the Bible does say man should be with woman and vise versa but there is nothin wrong with a few playful kisses if nothing comes out of it. Personaly I’ve never kissed a girl, and I still don’t want to, so the myth about listening to music will turn you gay or bi is total horse crap.

I have read the bible several times and there is no mention of lesbians and does not mention that it is even a sin…. Society, for the most part, expects girls to love on each other whether they have sexual attraction for one another or not. First of all I’d like to say what does it matter whether Katy Perry is Bi, Straight or a Lesbian. She is still a normal person like anyone else.

Okay, I have been reading all the comments and I can believe that it has turned into such a debate. People just can’t handle listening to a song just because it is music. it is wrong because you have 7,8,9,10,11,12 year olds singing “i kissed a girl and i liked it”. also “i dont even know your name, it doesnt matter”. young people are influenced by what seems cool to them and she is dressed cool, has a catchy song but the content is wrong- it is such a bad message. it is ok if your 19,20-cool…the thing is it is not marketed at those ages. let kids still be kids and lets not let these big corperations poision young peoples minds. give them better role models, not sluts. peace.
