I Told You So is a song first recorded by Randy Travis and included into his album titled Always & Forever in 1988. The single became on a number one hit on Billboard Country Chart. Carrie Underwood has used this song as a cover version from her last material, Carnival Ride. The song initially released on January, 2009, and this month was re-released a duet with the same Randy Travis. She has been nominated for Entertainer of the Year at the 44th Academy of Country Music Awards which will take place this Sunday at 8:00 PM (ET).
(Carrie)
Suppose I called you up tonight
And told you that I love you
And suppose I said I want to come back home
And suppose I cried and said I think
I finally learned my lesson
And Im tired of spending all my time alone
If I told you that I realized you’re all I ever wanted
And it’s killing me to be so far away
Would you tell me that you love me too
And would we cry together
Or would you simply laugh at me and say
(Both)
I told you so, Oh I told you so
I told you some day you would come crawling back
And asking me to take you in
I told you so, but you had to go
Now I’ve found somebody new
And you will never break my heart in two again
(Randy)
If I got down on my knees
And told you I was yours forever
Would you get down on yours too and take my hand
Would we get that old-time feeling
Would we laugh and talk for hours
The way we did when our love first began
Would you tell me that you’ve missed me too
And that you’ve been so lonely
And you’ve waited for the day that I returned
And we’d live and love forever
And that I’m your one and only
Or would you say the tables finally turned
Would you say…
(Both)
I told you so, Oh I told you so
I told you some day you would come crawling back
And asking me to take you in
I told you so, but you had to go
Now I’ve found somebody new
And you will never break my heart in two again
(Carrie)
Now I’ve found somebody new
And you will never break my heart in two again
i love the song and it makes me cry cause its kind of sad and the one i love the most is jesus take the wheel if i could rate that song 1,000,000 i would .thanks for reading
I love this song when Randy Travis first put it out.. His voice was very strong then. Even though I love Carrie Underwood, it just never sounded the same without Randy. Now that they have blended their voices together, there could not be anything better.
