There’s no much information about the new album. All that we can know about the one is that it will probably be premiered on summer 2008. This single still available on Itunes. On Gourdin’s website have announced a new single will be released coming soon. Last month, he performed this song at Stever Harvey’s Show and said the new material will be called “After My Time”. In an interview (singerroom.com), Gourdin talked about the album and said that “the tracks are all timeless. You can listen to them now or you can listen to them ten years from now and get the same feeling”. The river is located on the position number thirty one at Billobard R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.
La,la,la,la,la,la,la,la,la
Alright
La,la,la,la,la,la,la,la,la
Growin’ up, it was tough
We were glad for what little we had
I saw my share of old fair, Mississippi
Dirt roads and confederate flags
Everyday my father would tell me
Son, run and don’t never come back
That’s where I left my girl
That’s where my heart is at, and oh
I held my breath when they dipped my head
Then I came up shiny and new
Found out about love in the back of my Impala
Where they laid my grandfather too
Down by the river
Where black folks gather
After Sunday service is through
How the river runs to the ocean
I’ll be runnin’ right back to you
I got along, I’m movin’ on
I bandaged the scars up well
I think of her, then I seem to wait
For a card or a letter in the mail
I walk the beach with the sand in my feet
Place my ear to a shell
I wonder if you miss me too
Coz I been longin’ to get to you
I’m sick of starin’ out my window sill
I’m tired of hopin’ she remembers me still
I’m packin’ my bags, I said I’m goin’ back home
To the place where I belong
The river
And if she’s there when I get there
I’m never gonna leave her again
You see, she stole my heart
Down by the river
I held my breath when they dipped my head
Then I came up shiny and new
Found out about love in the back of my Impala
Where they laid my grandfather too
Down by the river
Where black folks gather
After Sunday service is through
How the river runs to the ocean
I’ll be runnin’ right back to you
So I’m packin’ up my suitcase
Bought me a one-way fare
I’m leavin’ everything behind me
But in my heart I always care
And I’ll still be right there
Thank you baby
Coz nothin’ can replace that part in my life, and ..
I held my breath when they dipped my head
Then I came up shiny and new
Found out about love in the back of my Impala
Where they laid my grandfather too
Down by the river
Where black folks gather
After Sunday service is through
How the river runs to the ocean
I’ll be runnin’ right back to you

I enjoy this song every time I hear it. The tone is so comforting. I would hear it occasionally on radio stations but they would never say who the artist was. So I googled the lyrics today and finally. Yes, I will pick up your album. Easy listening.

I loved this song since the first time I heard it. Its amazing. I have to agree with Fannice this is the real thing. We used to listen to music like this when I was growing up. Today kids have to listen to something upbeat and hard to understand to call it music.

I love this song the sound is so soulful. The sound takes you back to a time when we use to have good clean fun and families would hand out in mom’s kitchen talking, laughing and just kicking it.

I AM a grandma and this is my favorite new song. This should be played on all R&B and Pop stations to show how to sing a real song, aka ‘an anthem.’
And bless all who recognize!

It’s a Saturday morning, I’m driving in my just cleaned 94 Classic Caprice, feeling pretty good, heading to the market while talking to my friend. He’s switching stations looking for some real music; I hear a few bars of what I now know is “The River”. He continues to switch and I quickly asked him to ’switch it back’; now that I’ve the song in it’s entiretly I realize that I had heard not even heard half of the song initially. I couldn’t get through to the radio station to ask them - Who Was That? It’s been awhile since a song moves me this way - I’ve experienced lots of “Life” in these times, but THIS SONG RIGHT HERE, MAKES me to Feel Good! I feel your Soul Noel, Welcome to my Heart!

God is truly wonderful, I hear it in this
Man’s music. I play this song all day long.
It’s like spiritual food for the soul. It
also reminds us of tribulations we have
endeavored in the past. We will repeat them
if we r not careful. We need more real men.
God Is Good.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK YOUNG MAN…….
U R POSITIVE FOOD………
