We Are The World Remake - Hope for Haiti Now

(Justin Bieber)
There comes a time
When we heed a certain call

(Nicole Scherzinger and Jennifer Hudson)
When the world must come together as one

(Jennifer Hudson)
There are people dying

(Jennifer Nettles)
And it’s time to lend a hand to life
The greatest gift of all

(Josh Groban)
We can’t go on
Pretending day by day

(Tony Bennet)
That someone, somehow will soon make a change

(Mary J Blige)
We are all a part of
God’s great big family
And the truth, you know love is all we need

(Michael Jackson)
We are the world
We are the children

(Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson)
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving

(Barbra Streisand)
There’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me

(Miley Cyrus)
When send them your heart
So they’ll know that someone cares

(Enrique Iglesias)
so their cries for help
Will not be in vain

(Nicole Scherzinger)
We can’t let them suffer
No we cannot turn away

(Jamie Foxx)
Right now they need a helping hand

(Wyclef Jean)
Nou se mond la
We are the Children

(Adam Levine)
We are the ones who make a brighter day
so lets start giving

(Pink)
Ohhhhh…. there’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives

(BeBe Winans)
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me

(Michael Jackson)
When you’re down and out
There seems no hope at all

(Usher)
But if you just believe
There’s no way we can fall

(Celine Dion)
Well, well, well, well, let us realize
That a change can only come

(Fergie)
When we stand together as one

(All)
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving

(Nick Jonas)
Got to start giving

(All)
There’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives

(Toni Braxton)
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me

(Mary Mary)
We are the world
We are the children

(Tony Bennet)
Its for the children

(Isaac Slade)
We are the ones who make a brighter day

(Toni Braxton)
So lets start giving

(Lil Wayne)
There’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me

(All)
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving

(Akon)
There’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives
It’s true we make a better day
Just you and me

(T-Pain)
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving

(Jamie Foxx imitating Ray Charles)
Choice were making
saving our own lives
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me

(Rap part – LL Cool J, Will-I-Am, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Swizz Beatz)
We all need somebody that we can lean on
When you wake up look around and see that your dreams gone
When the earth quakes we’ll help you make it through the storm
When the floor breaks a magic carpet to stand on
We are the World united by love so strong
When the radio isn’t on you can hear the songs
A guided light on the dark road your walking on
A sign post to find the dreams you thought was gone
Someone to help you move the obstacles you stumbled on
Someone to help you rebuild after the rubble’s gone
We are the World connected by a common bond
Love the whole planet sing it along

(Wyclef)
Cabarett

(All)
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving

There’s a choice were making
saving our own lives
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me

(Kanye West)
Everyday citizens
everybody pitching in

(Singing – Children and Wyclef Jean)
Nou se mond la
nou se timoun yo

(Will-I-Am)
You and I
You and I

(Kanye West)
Uh, 12 days no water
whats your will to live?

(Will-I-Am)
we amplified the love we watching multiply

(Kanye West)
Feeling like the Worlds end
we can make the World win

(Will-I-Am)
Like Katrina, Africa, Indonesia
And now Haiti needs us, the need us, they need us

(All)
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving

There’s a choice were making
saving our own lives
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me

(Wyclef Jean)

I think the remake was horrible…i literally sat there watching this and had no idea who half of the people were….what would of been awesome would have been to invite everyone that did the original to rerecord this…the rap was over done and if anyone thinks they left their egos at the door then why was Kanye there? This song was for a great cause but was lousy…Justin Beiber?? I have no clue who that is…never heard of him…sorry…but this version doesnt hold a stick to the old one…someone should tell wyclef he cant sing…unless he’s saying “one time…two times” as if he were in a fugees video

It’s a great song, there were some things I was disappointed with though. The older version was better with some of the harmonizing than this one. Also, Miley Cyrus’s part does not go “When send them your heart,” it goes, “WELL send them your heart” When send them your heart doesn’t even make sense. Have you ever ever heard the first version? You can tell it’s well, not when. Needs to be fixed!

I Loveee this songg ! I was so happy that Justin Bieber was in it. & Miley Cyrus and Nick Jonas. They help stand for us kids. Because its not only the adults that care and want to help them, we as kids want to too. Also, I love how they brought A LOT of different artists, from all types of genres. The Song is amazing and I couldn’t have thought of a better way to bring everyone together then that song. I really like how they had very different artists with VERY different voices, I think it really makes the song very original and it helps make it stand out from all the rest. && People need to stop saying that the original version was better or that they didnt like it or the they didn’t like the people that sang in it, because thats not what the song was ment for. It was ment to bring many different people with many different cultures together to help save the people in Haiti. Like the song says we all have a common bond and thats what everyone needs to focus on. The people in Haiti need OUR help, not our judgements or rude remarks, but they need OUR HELP! And THAT is what the song is ment to remind us. The song is just a song until you truely understand the lyrics. It wasn’t just there for entertainment, it is there to represent our Duty, as a country, to bring EVERYONE together. We, as in ALL the people in the world is a family, and that is what a family does. A family is there to help people when they are in need! And that is what everyone needs to rememeber. So All in All, Haiti is in trouble and needs OUR help , So please everyone, Think What if we were in Haiti’s Position, Please Donate and Do whatever you Can. Just the little pocket change, or the dollar you find in the road, can SAVE A LIFE. Help Haiti ! They Need Us! God Bless . (:

i really love this song (old or new).the message is really amazing…and it makes us realize what is really happening in the world.that we have to be observant & helpful to others in need…and to those whose comments that were really not good (sad to say), you didn’t get the message of the song or the intentions of the artists who participated in making this amazing one…everybody deserves a second or an nth chance, so there is nothing wrong with kanye being a part of this one, is there???

i know i’m not rich or anything, all i could offer is a prayer for the people in Haiti and for the other parts of the Earth who are also in need…Let us all join hands for the fast recovery of all the people in Haiti…Share the LOVE…

Oh my, how far we have come from Talent! We have evolved into a non singing, auto tuning, attitude gloating, ghetto bump society. Any so called ‘singer’ who has to have a stupid name like lil ‘anything’ or ‘ice’ anything, and has to revert to using software just to make sure they are on key is a poor excuse for a musician. This version has a few talented players, Celine, Pink, Barbara, Jennifer, and so forth, but those were dragged through the mud by those wanna be artists. If Michael Jackson were still alive, he’s be ashamed. He NEVER used auto tune, and neither did ANY of the artists of the version 25 years ago. Quincy should be ashamed also. And what is up with the screaming banshee, black Tarzan Wyclef Jean? How did he get on the program, and after his recording part, how did he earn the right to stay on the track?
That was completely horrible, and I lost all hope for the future of children and their music.
My own daughter is 17 and right in the middle of this music breakdown, and she always says she lived in the 80′s because the music meant something!
Shame on you all!

I liked the song…although people gave it too much hype about how great it was going to be, it actually turned out good. I love the fact that alot of “my” generation was featured on it such as, Lil Wayne, Nick Jonas, Miley Cyrus, etc, etc. I feel that this song has gotten alot of flack from people as “ohh, this is not the same as the 1st one” or “leave the song alone”. I think this is a great effort for artists to donate to Haiti. We are so worried about how the song is gonna be messed up but do we stop to think how this is HELPING haiti….Awe are so concerned about ourselves that we don’t stop to think. I bet you 5 dollars, if Micheal Jackson was alive, he’d praise this effort…hell, he’d probably make a DVD about this effort. I think all the “haters” need to GET-A-LIFE!!!!! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

i think it is the best song recorded this whole year….all the people who have the nerve to be bashing it and bringing it down need to go bang their heads against the wall until they get some sense in their head. sure, there were some not-so-great parts, but the most important thing is that all these artists came together and said “hey, lets do something awesome to help haiti.” and to everyone who keeps criticizing kanye west: shame on all of you!! how dare u go an shoot ur mouth off about him, and ur no better!! god is a god of mercy and he spared all of us by DYING for us…..we could at least show some mercy to others in this world who make mistakes just like us!! we need to give second chances.

I believe that some of these people that commented do not realize what the song is really about. It is about EVERYONE coming together to support a country in need. All artists that sang were given a chance to be a part of something amazing and for you to say they should not belong in the song is just very rude. Wycleaf Jean is Haitian. Why on earth does he not deserve to sing for his country?? Along with some rappers that are probably Haitian as well. You should be ashamed just for thinking that none of these artists do not deserve to be in this song. OF COURSE THEY DO!! I think all of the world deserves to sing this song!! Michael would be ashamed to hear what you just said, so do not pick on singers based on fame and their music styles. I am going to suggest doing this song for my school’s talent show as a closing number. Their are so many Haitians in my school and I believe that everybody will think that it is beautiful. Maybe we can swing to be able to pass around a donation box as well. thanks for the lyrics :]

Paul says:
March 5th, 2010 at 8:56 am

It’s not that I don’t like the song, but I don’t like the “it’s all about ME” attitude.
This generation is only striving on remaking everything. All of our movies now are remakes, all of our songs are re-done, all of the TV shows are the same.
And, Talent is nowhere to be found. The ONLY REASON to use Autotune is that the so called ‘artist’ CAN NOT SING!
at least come up with something orginal…
and yes.. this song sucks.. As you can see, Chloe is an un-educated individual. He or she, what ever ‘it’ is, has extremely bad grammer, bad communication skills, and is very angry and it is this type of people who attract to this type of music. Thug Music. Street music, and I guess you can call it Nigger music. That’s is why the worls sucks now, and that is why people like that suck also. I feel sorry for the future of the world if this is all we have to offer.

i adore this song, my group Cold and i are debuting at our schools talent show soon and we are going to attempt this song. I love the fact that it shows that theres more than just one person, more than just you. you have to care for the rest of the world too because without them even you yourself cannot survive. Cold is a group of two girls so far, we as a Duo feel great about trying this song for our debut and are proud to do so. The proceeds from the talent show go to earthquake and tsunami victims. We each in our different religion send love and prayers to these people daily so that their lives might be better.

@paul, michael jackson would not be ashamed of anyone in that room. i can’t believe you said that. he would be proud of every artist in that room because they are representing the people suffering in the horrible circumstances that the people of haiti are currently going through. they are doing what they do best which is making music, and by doing this they are raising awareness. michael jackson would be proud that his song has been seleted and that people understand it and that it holds such a crucial message to the population of the world. there is absoutley no all about me attitude to this performance. you are assuming that because of the sterotype of a celebrity. these people are doing what they do best and have raised so much money for this cause. i dont think either that it’s fair for you to critise how they are singing. i would like you to do better. also this particular example of music is not about the singing its about the song and the message it is spreading. how would you know wether or not people are using auto tune? you are just assuming that. probably none of them are . or all of them are. they wouldn’t pick certain artists over others. now you need to stop complaining about them and just accept that that is how they sing. i cant believe you pick out certain artists and question them when they are just trying to contribute. you don’t like them just because they dont sing your certain style of music. a lot of them are related to haiti in some way. i honestly think that you are wasting your time and you are sooo rude to the chloe person. she is just expressing her opinion. whereas your just going to far with yours. now sorry to comment like this but i really thought i should say something because that is just general rudeness. anyway. help haiti and god bless their souls. this an amazing song :)

Can we please stop debating about whether or not Michael Jackson would have been proud of the remake? Nobody will ever know what he would have thought about it, so let’s not decide for him. I’m disappointed when people tell me that because I don’t like the remake or the majority of the artists who contributed I don’t support Haiti. There are other ways to help Haiti besides buying this song. I’ve donated money and done my part, but I would never buy the We are the World remake simply because I would much rather listen to the original. We all have our opinions. Some people like it some don’t. It’s your choice. But please don’t tell me that I suck or that I don’t support Haiti because I don’t like this song. When people do that it completely defeats the message of We are the World because all of sudden we’re fighting again and we’re not one world.

this song makes you think a lot about our young rappers/singers and older rappers and singer..and how we can come together and do anyhting no matter our differences and/or mistakes..united we stand divided we fall..bhut i really think this song is indiscribable..it shows how we can always come home(music)and be around people we love and do an amazing song like this one to help haiti..good job everybody who made and participated in this song..and i hope we can keep this tradition going..with no disasters hopefully..
GOD BLESS..

omg! u haters need to just shut ur self up cause if not i will find you and put ducktape over ur mouth! (thts not a threat!) ok haiti had so little and now most have nothing! you just better be thankful theres a roof over ur head and not a tarp,or nothing.(i no this is random but yes i am a girl, tyler can be a girl name!)so haters and spoiled(probably spoiled rotten kids)get over ursevles. just because it has a bunch of people in that you don’t no who is…at least they are doing something! ur life is harmless that song is harmless so if u want to worry about a song just cuze it doest have enough rap or watever…so wat u try doing soething than being a drama queen or king if ur a guy complaining. GET OVER IT..ITS A SONG YOU WILL ONLY HAVE TO HEAR ACOUPLE OF TIMES. life isn’t all about you yourself and you. pay attention to the world aroung you. if you say those people in the new song can’t sing well ur rong they probly have abetter voice than you..your mostlikly jealous. i think everybody in the video rocks!!!! that why im going to try to sing it in the talent show at my school…ok and if you go to my school dtms better buy some ear plugs!!!!!haha anyway haiti had our people over there!a bunch of high school kids from tennessee died helping a orphanage! think about that huh tht culd have been you there! wuldn’t you want a bunch of people to make a song about what you were trying to help.so it culd go on and keep helping! yeah thats wat i thought. making tht song was like recyclying people they made a new song they used an old one.just like recycling to help the earth!

i loved the song1 i think it was great, because all thr proceeds went to help those people to get back on there feet so they can have a new beging.
just hought i wuld say that1 hope it made you rethink about wat u put.

PEACE OUT HATERS AND LOVERS!
LOVE THE WORLD! HELP OTHERS! BE KIND!

all you haters can talk about how this song sucked and how it can never be matched up wit the original one in the 80′s because of hip hop characters like wyclef jean waynw, tpain and akon. well guess did they start rapping in the freaking song? NO! they sang solo chorus parts and the electronic parts were added in there to add more effects of today, THATS WHY ITS CALLED A REMAKE AND NOT THE EXACT ORIGINAL. plus if u still disagree wit it the parts what the haters consider bad parts are only a small section of this nearly eight minute song the rest are made up of real good vocalists like mary j blige, pink, usher, jaime foxx, adam levine, celine dione, fergie and the rest of the soloists and chorus. so to all the haters commenting on how bad dis song is, ask yourself, is anyone really gonna care about your stupid ass hater comments besides you and your fellow haters?

miguel reyes says:
April 3rd, 2010 at 5:14 pm

plus this song was made to help raise money for the victims in Haiti, not for the satisfaction of everyone who loved michael jackson’s 1985 version of it and to a hater in the middle of this page named paul: Shame on us? what is this? preschool? everyone has a right to like what they want so y u gotta be criticizing us on our opinions? and why u gotta criticize this song and its artists? can u make do a better version or even sing as well as these artists or direct something this large with so many famous people that is helping to raise money gfor all those suffering in haiti or another struggling country? yeah didnt think so

“Speechless” This song is the beautiful and i think that it is better than the first one. I love how the song has so many artist that are willing to help HAITI. And when i was listening to it for the first time i was literally crying because of how beautiful it was. And for all you HATERS out there saying that oh justin bieber has NO talent and how yuh dont like a certain part of the song, well that just shows your lack of caring for the world and for those who are willing to risk there life for you and for others. And also that shows that you did NOT really listen to the lyrics of the song and did not even care for anything. It dont matter if you did not know the person or dont like that person what matter was that they were willing to help your brother and sisters, because in JESUS world it stated that we are all BROTHERS AND SISTERS. And what im wondering is that what if we were in HAITI’S position wuldnt you want people to help you or let you die? cause the way yall write your comments it shows that you will rather die than let people help you! But you know thats my opinion! But my suggestion is that listen to the song again people that said oh i donot like the song, and dis time really listen to the lyrics cus they show a great way people can help and its not about the way people look or the way yuh dnt like them, its all about how people come together and help our fellow COUNTRY that need help!
SO please donate guys! dnt let the country down.

PS. i offered all my condolences to all the family that had their family in HAITI that died!

And also for you pleople that think i do not care, i do ok, because i had all my family down there and they all are sufferring out there but all i know is that they are safe but some arent safe and thats ok cus i know that they are in a better place!

THANK YOU! DON’T forget to donate!

Everyone saying you like the older verision and that the Hati man cant sing and why are all these kiddie stars in this song. First, this is for HAITI there isnt much of a diffence. BUt the rap and the people. But Haiti needs help. How do you know thats not how they sing in Haiti? Stop judging him. He loves his life and is thankful for help for his FAMILY, the world. They added kiddie stars so everyone could relate to the song and relize we are all a huge family. Help your brothers and sisters in Haiti they need it:) Dont be skeptical. Its a beautiful song and has all genras:) God Bless Haiti and Amreica<3

I don’t know why people are bashing on this song. All of the artists wanted to make a song to help Haiti, and they happened to have chose a Michael Jackson song that best represents the situation. So you guys need to stop saying the original is better, it’s not like this is the official song for We Are The World. I liked both the original song and the remake. Gosh. You talk about what the world has come to, you shouldn’t judge them. I liked the song very much. And the fact that they had Michael there was special. It made me cry. I loved it. And Wyclef did a WELL job, he’s speaking in his native tongue. I can listen to this song all day.
